The elderly in Singapore are becoming more tech-savvy. One of the challenges these elderly face is the lifestyle change from being active in the workforce to full retirement. Hence, this project explores how technology can help the elderly achieve their desired retirement lifestyle.
The transition from working life to retirement is a major milestone for every soon-to-be-retiree and it may not always be a smooth sailing one. Many adults aged
50-60 years old were not prepared for retirement as they could only begin thinking about their retirement proper, after the graduation of their youngest child. Our team focused on being able to retire comfortably as successful aging in place.
Steady Lah!
Retirement is as easy as 1,2,3!

Steady Lah! is an integrated system that has 3 main features, the Goals Setter, Health Calendar and Experience Exchange. These features provide support to soon-to-be retirees in the terms of their health, social life and sense of self-purpose, to ensure a smooth transition towards retirement.
Goal Setter
Before retirement, soon-to-be retirees are able to begin working on their goals, seeking inspiration from other retirees, and joining a community of like-minded individuals for advice on their goals. The Goals Setter also helps to break down their goals into smaller tasks, to make their goals more manageable to achieve.
Health Calendar
To provide an intervention during the early detection stages to ease worries regarding health for our elderly users, the Health Calendar engages users in pro-active health management. It provides suggestions of health events specially catered to each individual based on their specific area of health concerns and reminders for medical appointments with records of last screened dates of chronic diseases.
Experience Exchange
Experience Exchange is a community based lifelong learning feature where retirees can exchange skills with people around them and expand their social circle by meeting new people. By being able to teach someone else a new skill, retirees are able to feel a renewed sense of purpose, and relevance in society.
